Supreme Court attorney Jai Anant Dehadrai made the shocking claim on Wednesday, February 28, that a victim had come to him with accusations against Thiruvananthapuram MP and senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor. Taking to X, Dehadrai posted alleged screenshots of the exchange in which the victim said that Congressman Shashi Tharoor’s actions had made her feel “uncomfortable” on two different occasions.
Dehadrai stated, “This is Shashi Tharoor’s reality – sickening and grotesque—this vile man should be in jail,” asserting that the Congress MP ought to be imprisoned. I’m happy to put this under sealed cover so that the victim’s name is protected from legal action in India.
Notably, the victim claimed to have been an admirer of Shashi Tharoor in the screenshot of the alleged chats. However, she had to put up with his “creepy stare” twice.
She claims that after seeing Dehadrai tweet about Shashi Tharoor, she realised that “it might be the man’s pattern” and felt compelled to share her experience with him.
She claims to have attended the October 2022 book launch of Shashi Tharoor’s B. R. Ambedkar: The Man Who Gave Hope to India’s Dispossessed. Tharoor was a candidate for Congress President at the time. She said in a brief interaction with Shashi Tharoor following the book launch that he was a great admirer of hers. She continued by saying that she felt “uncomfortable” shaking hands with them.
“It was pretty strange at the end when we sort of shook hands because I felt him crushing my hand in a very uncomfortable and painful way. Additionally, he kept his eyes fixed on my chest the entire time, which was really uncomfortable, according to the alleged conversations.
As they continue, the victim says, “I genuinely couldn’t believe that the guy I had always like fan girl over could be like this.” She also says she doesn’t know why she initially believed it was “unintentional.”

She claimed that it had happened once more and provided information about another occasion in which she had met Shashi Tharoor. The second meeting, according to her account, was at the book launch of Amrit Mathur.
“But again, when I met him at another event (Amrit Mathur’s book launch), he was talking to me again with creepy stares,” the accuser continued.
She said, “I just felt like sharing this with you because, when I saw your tweet I realised that maybe that’s the man’s pattern.” about her choice to be upfront with Supreme Court attorney Jai Dehadrai. It’s regrettable. I wanted to commend you for confronting (redacted name), but I can’t even begin to describe the terrible tales I’ve heard about her from others. It must be difficult to confront these bullies. But I’m sure you’ll succeed. Remain resilient!”
Advocate Dehadrai’s previous tweet about Shashi Tharoor, which was mentioned in the chats, is said to have been sent on December 8th, of last year. In it, Jai stated, “Shashi Tharoor should be in jail, not in parliament.”
Notably, TMC MP Mahua Moitra’s estranged “ex” is Jai Anand Dehadrai. Dehadrai’s assertions are the source of the cash-for-query charges made against Ms. Moitra. Notably, on October 15, counsel Jai Anant Dehadrai revealed details that led to BJP Lok Sabha MP Nishikant Dubey making serious accusations of bribery against Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra. Advocate Dehadrai said in his charges that Moitra was given gifts and cash payments for inquiring in Parliament on behalf of the commercial interests of tycoon Darshan Hiranandani.
