One of the clever politicians credited with the Bharatiya Janata Party’s comeback to power in Maharashtra is the state’s deputy chief minister. He turned 53 years old today and was born on July 22, 1970. Due to his outstanding accomplishments and increasing reputation in Maharashtra politics, the senior BJP politician and former Chief Minister has served as an inspiration to others. During his undergraduate years, Fadnavis was an active member of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. He began his political career in the mid-1990s.
In Maharashtra, he is the first person to have held both the position of Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister.
Let’s look at some lesser-known facts about Devendra Fadnavis in honor of his birthday:
He refused to enroll at the nearby Indira Convent school since it bore the name of the then-prime minister Indira Gandhi because of his father’s arrest during the Emergency. Instead, he attended the Saraswati Vidyalaya, which is administered by the RSS.
Fadnavis has a strong academic record. He received his legal education at Nagpur’s Law College. Additionally, he has a project management certificate from DSE Berlin and a masters degree in business management.
He started his political career at a young age in 1992 when, at the age of 22, he was elected to two consecutive terms as a corporator of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation.
He was appointed mayor of Nagpur in 1997 at the age of 27, making him the second-youngest mayor in India.
Before getting into politics, Fadnavis worked as a model for a clothing store in Nagpur, where his involvement in an advertising campaign was quite successful.
On October 31, 2014, Fadnavis was appointed Chief Minister of Maharashtra, making him one of the state’s youngest CMs at the age of 44.
He was chosen from Nagpur South West to serve in the Maharashtra Assembly in 2019.
With the support of NCP leader Ajit Pawar, Fadnavis took the oath to serve as Maharashtra’s chief minister for a second time on November 23, 2019. But his administration was only in place for a short while.
Later, after the BJP formed the government with the Shiv Sena group headed by Eknath Shinde, he was sworn in as Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister on June 30, 2022.
Recently, Devendra Fadnavis and his wife Amruta both made appearances in the “Mumbai River Anthem” T-series music video.
