The family of a 53-year-old doctor who purportedly died here after being attacked on Saturday claimed they would only cremate the remains if Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid them a visit.
The deceased, Ghanshyam Tripathi, worked at the Jaisinghpur Community Health Center. He passed away on Saturday in the Kotwali neighborhood after reportedly being beaten by a small group of individuals over a property dispute.
Since Tripathi’s family decided against having him cremated, a sizable police presence has been established close to his home in the Sakhauli Kalan hamlet in the Lambhua tehsil.
The doctor had bought a piece of property from Ajay Narayan Singh, the primary suspect in the murder investigation, according to Superintendent of Police Somen Barma, who made the revelation to media on Sunday.
According to Barma, “the accused were demanding more money and refusing to give the doctor possession of the land.”
The size and cost of the property were not disclosed by the police, however.
According to the doctor’s wife Nisha Tripathi on Saturday, there was “commotion” over the deceased’s acquisition of a piece of property that was situated behind a Saraswati Shishu Mandir every day.
According to the SP, three people have been arrested in connection with the case, and four squads have been sent out to find the suspect.
He stated that the e-rickshaw driver who had taken the wounded doctor to his home was also being questioned.
Nisha Tripathi, the doctor’s wife, said on Saturday that her husband was slain by “some people who live in Narayanpur” over a property dispute.
“In the evening, my husband came over and demanded 3,000 rupees from me, telling me it was for someone who was drawing a map. After eating some food, he departed the home before returning in a rickshaw some time later in a hurt condition,” she stated.
She said that her late husband, who passed away in a hospital while receiving treatment, was beaten by Jagdish Narayan Singh, a resident of Narayanpur.
On Sunday, District Magistrate Jasjeet Kaur called a meeting to discuss this.
She informed the media that Sadar SDM had been instructed to locate the property owned by the accused and their relatives. Additionally, the SDM has been given instructions to determine if the land that they own does not constitute an unlawful property or an encroachment on gram sabha land.
