The Maharashtra government presents supplementary demands of ₹6,486 crore during the budget session

The first day of the state assembly’s budget session began Monday with the Maharashtra administration presenting additional demands totalling Rs 6,486 crore.

The supplementary demands, or extra money the administration wants above the financial allotment, were presented by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who oversees the finance position. The Center-sponsored schemes accounted for Rs 2,133.25 crore of the Rs 6,486 crore in demands.

Monday marked the start of the state assembly’s budget session, and on March 10 the budget will be presented. Additional requests total Rs 3,006.28 crore for the Department of Rural Development, Rs 1,688.74 for the Departments of Industry, Power, and Labour, and Rs 590.28 crore for the Department of Urban Development.

The government has requested Rs 412.36 crore for the department of higher and technical education and Rs 313.93 crore for the departments of cooperative, marketing, and textiles.
