The Maharashtra government announced the issuance of a second round of financial aid of Rs. 1,500 crore on Wednesday for farmers who suffered crop losses as a result of severe rainfall during the 2022 monsoon season.

According to a formal statement released by the state’s relief and rehabilitation department, up to 26,50,951 farmers would get compensation of Rs 1,500 crore for crop loss on more than 15,96 lakh hectares of land.

It said that there were technical issues that prevented these farmers from receiving financial help sooner.

The state cabinet meeting on June 13 resulted in a resolution to pay the farmers who were unable to get assistance in the previous rounds of distribution owing to technological issues, according to the statement.
