In an effort to meet the concerns of the thousands of farmers and tribal people marching towards Mumbai, the Maharashtra government will undertake another round of negotiations with a team on Thursday, according to former Legislator Jiva Gavit, who is leading the lengthy march.

According to him, the discussions would be conducted with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, pertinent ministries, and senior state officials. Ministers Dada Bhuse and Atul Save met a group of farmers late on Wednesday night when they reached the Thane district as thousands of farmers and tribals marched towards Mumbai from the Nashik district in North Maharashtra.

Former lawmaker Gavit said that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had called a team of farmers and tribals to a meeting on Thursday.

40% of the criteria have been met, according to Gavit.

Gavit said, “Respecting the offer issued to us, we are coming to the meeting. If the government’s responses continue to be inadequate, he continued, the march will go on.

Gavit said that some of the ministers’ requests were being positively received at the meeting on Wednesday night. But, the state secretariat will be where the decisions are made.

On Sunday, the protesters began a foot march in support of their various demands, including an immediate financial relief of Rs 600 per quintal to onion growers, uninterrupted electricity supply for 12 hours, and a waiver of agriculture loans, from Dindori town in the Nashik district, about 200 km from Mumbai.
