Are you a traveller? If this is the case, you shouldn’t pass up the opportunity to travel along the section of the CH-60 highway in Chile known as Los Caracoles (Snails). Because of the incredibly high slope of Los Caracoles, this route is often considered to be the most challenging and hazardous of any in the world.
The footage of the incredible road is doing the rounds on various social media platforms right now. The road is a work of architectural genius, and it has over 40 different border crossings.
The route from Santiago, Chile, to Buenos Aires, Argentina, which travels over the Andes Cordillera mountains and is referred to by the Chileans as Las Caracoles, links the two cities. This stretch of road begins at an elevation of 800 meters and ascends to an elevation of 3200 meters above sea level. It consists of more than 29 hairpin curves, each of which is as stunning in comparison to the others.
The treacherous route travels through uninhabited areas and winds through steep terrain, providing stunning vistas along the way. Riding on the Chilean side, which is widely regarded as one of the most winding and twisting sections anywhere in the world, is a very challenging endeavor. On the other hand, due of its more gradual ascent, the Argentine side is the simpler option.
A tunnel may be found at the international boundary that separates the two countries. If you are traveling by road, you will also get the opportunity to traverse Aconcagua, which is the tallest mountain in South America.
