Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA Jitendra Awhad on Tuesday targeted the producer of the recently released film ‘The Kerala Story’. Awhad said that the producer should be hanged in public. The NCP leader said that a state and its women were defamed in the name of Kerala story. The official figure of three was exaggerated to 32,000. Whoever made this fictitious film should be publicly hanged.’
The Sudipto Sen-directed film, which depicts the recruitment of girls by the terrorist group Islamic State, has created a massive political storm across the country. The film has received support from the BJP-ruled states of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh along with the Bharatiya Janata Party. Who has declared the film tax free. At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned the film in a rally in Bellary in the election state of Karnataka and said that it has exposed the consequences of terrorism in the society.
PM Modi said that the film ‘The Kerala Story’ is trying to highlight the consequences of terrorism in a society. Especially in a state like Kerala which is a beautiful land of hardworking, talented and intellectual people. The Congress party is now trying to ban the film and support terrorist elements. On the other hand, BJP President JP Nadda watched the film at a special screening in Bengaluru. However, the West Bengal government has banned the film to ‘avoid hatred and violence’ in the state, intensifying the TMC-BJP battle in the state.
