May 29 2022. The season’s third and last occasion that RR and GT face off. And in the top battle this time, they are squabbling for the IPL trophy. GT triumphs for the third time in a row, this time by seven wickets.
RR skipper Sanju Samson must have been eager to win this match after losing their previous three encounters. He didn’t have to wait long since on April 16, during their first match of IPL 2023, RR got their “revenge” by defeating GT by three wickets while doing so in their opponent’s backyard.
Shimron Hetmyer, who made an unmatched half-century, was another key architect of the spectacular performance together with Samson. His joyous celebration after making the decisive six-footer was clear evidence of how much he delighted in the victory after finally defeating their formidable foe.

Hetmyer is RR’s designated finisher, and he freely confesses that he likes to be under pressure.

Hetmyer reached fifty after taking two from the opening ball, then to secure the victory, he hit a flat six over midwicket.
I must admit that I was rather content (on Noor bowling the final over). He bowled effectively throughout, so my only thought going into the first ball was getting that double and going from there “said Hetmyer.
