A confrontation between the Naxalites and police’s C60 Commandos at Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, resulted in the deaths of at least three of them, including a dalam commander.
Three Naxalites were killed during an encounter with the police in Manne Rajaram in the Aheri tehsil, according to Sandip Patil, the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Gadchiroli. Three Naxalites were killed in the incident, which happened on Sunday at approximately 6 o’clock, according to the police. The 38 lakh prize went to the Naxalites who were slain.
India Today said that the police had learned that Naxals were camped out in the jungle. The Gadchiroli police sent two C60 teams to begin a search operation in the bush based on the information.
Police responded by firing back after the Naxalites opened fire on them during the search operation, according to Gadchiroli Superintendent of Police (SP) Neelotpal.
“After the exchange of fire, the bodies of three male Naxalites were recovered from the spot along with weapons and other material,” the SP said.
According to the first investigation, Bitlu Madavi, a commander of Perimili Dalam, was one of the dead, while Vasu and Srikant, both from Perimili Dalam, were the other two.
“Madavi was a prime accused in the murder of student Sainath Narote on March 9 this year along with two incidents of arson of road construction equipment at Visamundi and Alenga that occurred in February and March,” he said. The officer also said that a search was being undertaken in the region.
