Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, said on Tuesday that verified accounts would henceforth be given priority on the microblogging platform.
He tweeted, “Verified accounts are now prioritized.”
People whose accounts have been validated may get extra attention as a result of this development.
People who are browsing Twitter, for instance, are more likely to notice your postings if your account is verified.
Musk eliminated all old verified accounts with blue check marks last week.
Charlie Sheen, an American actor, publicly pleaded for Musk to give back his blue Twitter check mark.
Following a site-wide cleanup of legacy verified accounts, Sheen lost his official verification badge along with hundreds of other users.
He was one among many who balked at paying the $8 monthly membership fee for Musk’s Twitter Blue service.
Sheen’s blue check, however, was quickly reinstated.
On Twitter, Amitabh Kant, the previous CEO of NITI Aayog, also lost the Blue Tick.
It was previously said that Twitter will leave government accounts and accounts controlled by government officials with verified status.
The restoration of Kant’s Blue Tick is still pending.
Additionally, the continuing Blue Tick drama on Twitter took a new turn when numerous powerful and well-known individuals had their blue checks reinstated by Musk despite not using the site.
Their Blue verification badges next to their usernames have been restored for a large number of prominent and well-known Twitter users worldwide.
