A massive fire broke out in a multi-storey house in Lal Bagh, B Block area of Loni Border Police Station area of Ghaziabad. There was a tent godown on the ground floor of this house. Suddenly a fire broke out in that godown this morning. In no time, the fire reached the top floor as well, more than half a dozen people living there got trapped in the fire.
On the information of the incident, the team of local police and fire department also reached the spot and efforts were started to control the fire. Eight people trapped on the upper floors were rescued by breaking the wall of the house and putting a ladder in the back way.
During the rescue, a woman trapped on the first floor and another woman trapped on the second floor were also taken out and sent to the hospital. However, the age of both women, about 32 years old and 64 years old, died due to scorching and suffocation due to smoke.
4 vehicles of the fire department from Tronica City Fire Station and Sahibabad Fire Station were called on the spot and after a lot of effort, the fire was brought under control. However, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. So far, the real reason for the fire has not been ascertained, but the fire is suspected due to a short circuit.
