A State Electricity Department contractor is accused of beating a young member of the Dalit caste and making him lick his shoe.

The culprit has been taken into custody by the police, and a FIR has been filed against him. His services have likewise been immediately terminated by the Department.

The event happened at the Shahganj Police Station neighbourhood in the Sonbhadra district. The kid who had reconnected the power connections of several persons whose connections had been cut off owing to unpaid arrears was beaten by the contractual lineman.

On social media, the footage of this occurrence from July 6 is quite popular. The DGP has also acknowledged the issue. To visit the area and conduct an investigation, the DIG has been requested.

On Sunday, Police CO Amit Kumar in this city said that the suspect Tejbali Singh had been detained after the filing of a complaint.

According to sources, attempts were made to cover up the occurrence for two days. The victim was under so much strain that even after arriving at the police station, he was still not prepared to file an official police report.
