Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, sent his congratulations to the administrative officers on Civil Services Day and wished them continued success as they pursue public service with all of their heart.
“Happy Civil Services Diwas (Public Service Day) to all diligent and dedicated civil servants!” On Friday, Adityanath tweeted. “Each and every one of you is crucial to realising the goal of creating a new Uttar Pradesh that is self-sufficient. I hope that everyone of you will continue to pursue public service with unwavering devotion, he said.
The first Civil Services Day event took place on April 21, 2006, at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. The theme for this year’s Civil Services Day is “Viksit Bharat” – Empowering people and going the extra mile.
On Civil Services Day, districts and implementing units receive Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration for executing important initiatives and innovating in certain areas.
The day honours the speech made by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the country’s first home minister, to probationary administrative services officers in 1947 in Delhi’s Metcalf House. The “steel frame of India” was how he had described the civil service.
