Police said on Monday that the corpse of a missing two-year-old child had been discovered inside a rucksack at a neighbor’s house in Greater Noida. The neighbour who is thought to have killed the youngster by suffocation is missing. They said that the victim’s family was a tenant in the same building. The child was reported missing from a leased residence in the Devla hamlet, which is close to the Surajpur police station, on April 7. Her corpse was discovered two days later. The girl’s father filed a complaint on April 8 alleging that his wife left the house for the market at approximately 2 pm while he was gone for work.
The father said, “Our two-year-old daughter was gone when she returned to our first-floor house.” According to Assistant DCP (Central Noida) Rajiv Dixit, the girl’s father reported his missing daughter to the Surajpur police station on April 8. In response to the complaint, a FIR under IPC section 363 was filed, and three teams were assembled to look for her.

The child’s death was discovered inside the rucksack when police and forensic officials arrived “said Dixit. The individual whose residence the girl’s corpse was discovered in is a local of the Ballia area of Uttar Pradesh and is at large, the police official added. The infant was smothered to death, according to the postmortem results, according to ACP (Central Noida-3) Sumit Shukla on Monday. He said that the father of the girl and the suspect both had everyday jobs.
