Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), misbehaved with a female reporter on Tuesday when asked about the sexual harassment claim made against him and also slammed the vehicle door on the microphone.
A television reporter stopped Singh as he was heading to his vehicle and questioned him about the allegations made against him and if he planned to quit.
In the footage of the event, Singh can be seen first refusing to respond to the reporter’s inquiry but afterwards acting inappropriately and yelling at her. Later, when the reporter chases him, he is seen slamming the vehicle door on her microphone.
When Times Now’s Tejshree Purandare questioned Singh in Hindi on the details of the charge sheet, Singh said in Hindi, “I have nothing to tell you.”
I don’t have any “masala” for you,” Singh declares as Purandare asks for a response to the charge sheet that Singh is subject to punishment.
Singh becomes irritated and responds, “Why would I resign? ” to Purandare’s question about resignation. Why should I step down? Why are you looking to leave your position? “Be quiet!”
Singh eventually runs from Purandare to his vehicle, and when she tries to obtain a reaction from him, he shuts the car door on the microphone.
Six female wrestlers have accused Singh of sexual harassment. Leading Indian wrestlers protested the claims for weeks, including Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat, and Bajrang Punia. The Delhi Police eventually filed two FIRs in the issue after the sports ministry panel had looked into it. On the basis of a complaint from a young wrestler, two FIRs were filed: one under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the other under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Singh was accused of sexual harassment and stalking under the IPC last month when the Delhi Police submitted a charge sheet in the FIR. As the youngster and their parent dropped their complaint in the POCSO case, the police requested that the matter be closed.
On July 18, Singh was called before a Delhi court.
On Twitter, Congress posted the incident’s footage along with the statement: “See the arrogance of BJP MP Brij Bhushan Singh. He reprimanded the female journalist who was asking the question, and when she was still not satisfied, he shattered her microphone. How much longer will you remain silent about the wrongdoings of your beloved MP, Narendra Modi Ji?
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) also posted the incident’s footage and said that Modi should feel embarrassed for supporting an MP who is so openly inappropriate with daughters.
Brij Bhushan Singh, a cherished MP of PM Modi, engaged in public hooliganism, the AAP tweeted. Brij Bhushan Singh, who has previously mistreated female wrestlers in a sexual manner, has now misbehaved with a female journalist and damaged her microphone.
