Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday officially opened construction projects worth Rs 233.20 crore in Gorakhpur.
The UP Chief Minister stressed the urgent need for urban development, highlighting its crucial role in propelling India towards economic superpower status, at a ceremony honoring the foundation stone laying and inauguration of 303 development projects.
Yogi Adityanath, who is the assembly representative for Gorakhpur, laid the cornerstones for 189 development projects and opened 114 more. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed as part of this occasion between the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) and the Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation (GMC) to develop a factory for turning waste into charcoal.
Speaking to the group, Adityanath emphasized the need of efficient solid waste management for achieving the goal of a smart city. He praised the GMC’s partnership with NTPC as an important step in the direction of this objective. He emphasized how the NTPC facility will convert garbage into charcoal and use that to generate energy.
The Chief Minister voiced worry about the incorrect disposal of solid waste, which has left mountains of trash and filth all over the city. He saw that this had impeded the growth of the metropolis. The NTPC plant, according to Adityanath, would allow the municipal corporation to save Rs 600 crore over 25 years, money that could be used for further development projects.
In addition to performing his formal responsibilities, Adityanath took part in a symbolic “annaprashan” for kids, sending them good vibes for a bright future.
