The mother of the 16-year-old girl who was brutally killed by a 20-year-old guy in Shahbad Dairy said this after carrying out her final rites on Monday: “Nothing less than the death penalty will bring justice to my daughter.”
The two had chatted on the phone at approximately 1.30pm, only hours before her daughter was reportedly stabbed at least 16 times and beaten with a stone slab late on Sunday night. The girl used to annoy her mother by avoiding her parents for days at a time.
I reprimanded her for being absent for the previous 10 to 12 days since, according to the mother, “I have a right to be angry with her for staying at her friend’s place.” However, the girl informed her that she would return in the following two to three days when her friend’s husband was most likely to be freed from prison after an unspecified criminal case.
The distraught mother remarked, “She managed to calm me down on the phone in her usual loving way, and she hung up.”
“‘Mummy, I adore you,’ she said. At the nearby crematorium on Monday afternoon, the mother added, “You are such a kind person.
It was their final call.
The girl was reportedly murdered in a small alleyway about 300 metres from their house at a time when there were enough terrified onlookers and silent witnesses who saw the horrific act take place in front of them.
They even saw the accused guy flee, as can be shown in a killing video that was authenticated by the police. Sahil was subsequently detained in Bulandshahr, according to the authorities.
Even little conversation was had with the girl by her mason father. Our last conversation was around ten days ago, when she asked me to settle a ghee seller’s debts.
They informed the police that neither the mother nor the father knew the daughter had been seeing the suspect for the previous eight months.
Originally from Uttar Pradesh, the family resided in a modest one-bedroom home in Shahbad Dairy. The child had parents and a 10-year-old sibling who didn’t seem to be completely aware of his loss while at the cremation.
The girl took board examinations for Class 10 this year while attending a government school.
“We are unaware of her score. However, she informed us that she had departed,” her father stated. She wanted to practise law, but for the time being, she told her father, she would study to pass Class 12.
The girl often spent 10 to 15 days at a time at the houses of her pals who lived in the neighbourhood and nearby, according to her mother.
However, according to her parents, they were never informed of her acquaintance with any Sahil. Her mother said, “We hadn’t even heard of any Sahil or Sunny (an alias of the suspect),” adding that they had never received threats or been made aware of her daughter being threatened by Sahil or anybody else.
Her mother said that she was at home at approximately 9 o’clock on Sunday when their home was approached by her daughter’s friend, who was with her at the time of the assault. The mother claimed, “She informed me that someone had slain my daughter.
The girl’s friend claims that the victim and Sahil never had a romantic connection. “Sahil went after her. However, she was unrelated to him, she said.
A now-vacant one-bedroom apartment in a three-story crowded home along a damaged street in the Prahladpur area, where Sahil relocated with his parents and three sisters two years ago, is more than three kilometres distant from the crime scene. Locals refer him Sahil, who works as an AC mechanic and is from Bulandshahr in the state of Uttar Pradesh, as Sunny. His father was a welder by trade.
Locals expressed outrage at the young man’s behaviour, saying they were astounded to witness such aggression coming from such a “innocent-looking” person.
“He was a quiet guy who remained indoors and avoided making eye contact with the neighborhood’s ladies. Karuna, a local lady, claimed, “We couldn’t believe he was capable of murdering someone, much less such a terrible crime.
“Whenever I chatted with him, he struck me as a straightforward, soft-spoken youngster. He and his family haven’t given us any issue in their two years here, according to the home’s owner, Ram Phool.
After Sahil’s horrific conduct was revealed late on Sunday night, the cops escorted his family out and sealed their home.
