Eight new instances of Covid-19 were recorded in Mumbai on Monday, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), while one person passed away from the virus. According to a BMC bulletin, the additional cases have brought the total number of cases to 11,63,529 and the death toll to 19,770.
On Sunday, the city recorded 18 new Covid cases but no new deaths. According to municipal authorities, fewer tests were performed on weekends, which led to a drop in daily case numbers.
The report states that 266 tests were carried out throughout the city during the course of the previous day, bringing the total number of tests to 1,88,62,120. The report states that 27 patients have been discharged on the previous day, bringing the total number of recovered and released patients to 11,43,526.
There are already 233 Covid-19 cases open in the city, it added. Mumbai has a recovery rate of 98.3%, and from May 8 to May 14, there was a 0.0027% total increase rate in cases. The rate of case doubling in Mumbai is 23,487 days, it continued.
