An enormous 90-foot long, 6,000 kilogram iron bridge that was constructed over a sewer in Malad, Mumbai, a popular and well-lit location, was taken. When it was discovered stolen a few days later, the firm reported it to the authorities, and four suspects were taken into custody.
The large bridge was erected by Adani Electricity in the Malad (west) section of the western suburb to carry power lines, however it was subsequently discovered to be in a disassembled state.
A permanent bridge was recently constructed over the drain, replacing the stolen iron bridge, which was previously positioned nearby. Locals discovered that the makeshift bridge was vanished. On June 26, the firm reported the stolen iron bridge, which cost Rs 2,000.
The bridge was taken, but how?
The bridge was last seen in its original place on June 6, according to information the police discovered during their search for it. According to reports, the location was crowded and well-lit, which surprised many people who wondered how it was possible to take such a large building.
The Mumbai police searched via the cameras set up in the surrounding regions since the bridge’s actual location did not have any CCTV cameras. On June 11, they discovered a large van driving toward the concerned bridge while carrying gas cutter equipment.
According to an officer speaking to PTI, “The vehicle had gas-cutting machines which were used to dismantle the bridge and steal iron weighing 6,000 kg.”
Who vandalized the bridge?
One of the four persons discovered to be engaged in the bridge theft case is a member of the company that received the contract to construct the bridge. The employee and three of his companions were taken into custody.
The cops also found the stolen iron bridge that had been disassembled.
