Activists from the Vishva Hindu Parishad and the Bajrang Dal are protesting over the communal violence in the Haryana cities of Nuh and Gurugram at various locations around the national capital today, resulting in traffic congestion in various areas of the city.
Following confrontations in neighboring Haryana, police have also increased security at important locations in Delhi in an effort to maintain peace and order.
Traffic snarls were created by protests by the Bajrang Dal and VHP on Vikas Marg, which links east Delhi with the city’s center.
On social media, there are many videos of Bajrang Dal supporters chanting the Hanuman Chalisa close to the Nirman Vihar Metro Station. Later, they attempted to barricade Vikas Marg, but police were able to remove them.
Death of a Bajrang Dal activist was reported by VHP.
Surendra Tanwar, the district vice-president of Vishva Hindu Parishad, stated that Bajrang Dal activist Pradeep Sharma was attacked by the rioters during the violence in Nuh on Monday and was critically injured. On Wednesday, Vishva Hindu Parishad reported the death of a Bajrang Dal activist while receiving treatment in a Delhi hospital, bringing the death toll in the communal violence in Haryana to six.
He passed away while receiving treatment at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, according to the VHP district vice-president.
An official of the VHP claimed that members of a certain group assaulted tourists during a march to the historic Nallhad Shiv Temple in Nuh. The processing was planned by Bajrang Dal, the VHP’s youth branch.
“Hundreds of automobiles have been damaged and burned during the rioting. “Pilgrims and Bajrang Dal workers have been hurt, while two police home guards have died,” Noida Mahanagar mantri Dinesh of the VHP stated on Tuesday.
Rahul Dubey, the VHP’s director of publicity, said yesterday that the protest march will leave from the Noida stadium in Sector 21A and go to Rajnigandha Chowk in Sector 16 to see the burning of an effigy.
In Noida, in the Gautam Buddh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, restrictions under CrPC section 144 are in effect at the time the protest is scheduled.
