According to a top official on Saturday, the Jharkhand Police’s ATS has carried out 230 raids around the state over the last week and detained 17 offenders. On July 15, he stated, the campaign against organized criminal gangs began.
According to Jharkhand Police spokesperson and Inspector General of Police (Operation) Amol V Homkar, “The Anti-Terrorist Squad arrested 17 criminals during a special drive since July 15 in which 230 raids were conducted in different districts of the state. These criminals included shooters and those involved in collecting levy.”
According to him, districts received a list of 338 persons who may be involved in different illegal activities and were asked to keep a watchful eye on their whereabouts.
In order to reduce crime, a campaign was started at the police headquarters, and a database of offenders was created.
According to the officer, police were able to seize a sizable sum of cash, as well as cars, cellphones, sim cards, and weapons and ammunition, from the hands of criminals.
“We have no tolerance for criminality or criminal activity. “Police operations will continue,” he said.
The state police were questioned by the chief minister last month on the state’s escalating crime rate.
Additionally, DGP Ajay Kumar Singh has requested that authorities tighten the noose on organized crime-related criminal groups.
Additionally, he urged them to keep an eye out for inmates who are criminals so that they cannot use mobile devices to run their gangs.
