Chetan Singh, a policeman with the Railway Protection Force, has been fired after he is accused of shooting dead his supervisor and three other passengers aboard a moving train in Maharashtra on July 31.
In a related event, Singh was placed in 14 days of judicial detention by a Mumbai court on August 11.
In a related incident, the court refused the Government Railway Police (GRP), which is looking into the matter, permission to test Singh using narco-analysis, polygraph, and brain mapping.
As the situation was very severe and a full investigation was required, the GRP had requested permission for the testing.
MORE PEOPLE WERE WANT TO BE KILLED
According to reports, the investigation into the incident showed that the 33-year-old RPF policeman had intended to kill more people on the train, but his murderous rampage was stopped when passengers in coach S5 caused a commotion.
According to a story, after pointing his loaded revolver at a lady wearing a Burkha, other passengers began yelling at him.
According to the report, after murdering Azgar Ali, a traveler in coach S6, Singh walked to coach S5 before getting off the train close to the Borivali station.
“Chaudhary had seven bullets left in his automatic ARM weapon and went to coach S5 because he intended to murder more people. He threatened a lady wearing a burka inside the bus, the HT report reported a police officer as saying.
The lady and her husband, who were flying from Jaipur to Mumbai, reportedly told authorities that when Singh threatened her, other passengers started yelling and screaming at him.
Most likely frightened, Singh turned away from the lady and moved on.
A CASE
