The Information claimed on Thursday that Microsoft intends to begin selling a new version of the Databricks software, which aids users in creating AI applications for their companies. The allegation was based on interviews with individuals with direct knowledge of the strategy.
As an alternative to licensing OpenAI’s proprietary models, Databricks, a data analytics platform that leverages artificial intelligence, which Microsoft would offer via its Azure cloud-server division, aids businesses in creating AI models from scratch or adapting open-source models.
An inquiry for comment from Reuters was not immediately answered by Microsoft or Databricks.
Microsoft announced an ambitious expenditure plan in July to match the demand for its AI services.
The business has begun incorporating AI capabilities into all of its products, including Azure, Microsoft 365, GitHub, and a number of developer tools.
