An altercation between two groups in the Bari Ramachandrapur police station’s jurisdictional Khajuripokhari hamlet took a dangerous turn when a homemade bomb was hurled, leaving at least six people hurt, including one who is in serious condition. The argument about an ongoing road construction project is what caused the incident, which happened on Sunday night.
According to local law enforcement authorities, tensions rose as a result of a physical conflict between the two groups. The argument, which eventually became violent, was over opposing viewpoints on the road development. According to PTI, during the confrontation, members of one of the groups reportedly threw a homemade bomb before fleeing the area.
Six persons were hurt as a result of the crude bomb’s detonation, which sparked an immediate communal reaction. As soon as they were hurt, onlookers hurried the victims to the neighboring Community Health Centre (CHC) for treatment. One victim, whose injuries were judged serious and who had to be transferred for expert treatment to the Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital, is noteworthy.
Both parties filed official complaints with the neighborhood police after the altercation, starting an ongoing inquiry into the event. Some male inhabitants of the hamlet of Khajuripokhari allegedly left as a precaution because they were worried about possible police activities.
Law enforcement authorities have set up police pickets in the neighborhood to handle the deteriorating situation and keep a watchful presence to stop more commotion.
