A 27-year-old pillion passenger was returning home from the Tungareshwar temple in Vasai (east) to Mumbai’s Kandivali when her dupatta became twisted in the back tire of the “Bullet” motorbike, causing her death. Another lady riding pillion was murdered a few days before to this tragedy on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad national route in Naigaon.
A report claims that on August 21, at 7.15 am, Pratima Yadav (27), who worked for a private company, and her husband Manish Kumar left their Kandivali house on the bike and were making their way back.
Pratima’s dupatta became twisted in the bike’s back tire as they approached the Bapane bridge in Naigaon, according to police, who were cited by TOI. The lady then fell off the bike and was allegedly dragged for a short period of time until the vehicle came to a stop.
She was reportedly transported to Sanskriti Hospital by her husband and other locals, but she was pronounced dead upon admittance, according to the reporter. According to the report, Pratima’s 33-year-old husband lives in Iraniwadi in Kandivali and works as a video editor.
The story cited a police officer as saying that due to the tragic death of his wife, the man is presently coping with great trauma. A case of accidental death has been reported to the Naigaon police.
SECOND CRASH ON THE MUMBAI-AHMEDABAD HIGHWAY
Another 27-year-old lady died in a similar collision on August 9 on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway. The victim was named as Pooja Gupta in a report.
According to the report, Pooja, a resident of Malad, was riding pillion when she lost control of the motorcycle near Bapane, Naigaon, due to a pothole on the road. The deceased was traveling to Waliv with her brother-in-law, Deepak Gupta, to honor Pooja’s sister’s birthday. However, a pothole that Deepak’s bike hit caused Pooja to fall off, according to a police report.
According to the report, Pooja had several head wounds but was receiving medical care. But on August 18, she passed away from her wounds.
