Police in Surat, Gujarat, are looking into a resident’s allegations that he developed the Chandrayaan-3 moon mission’s lander module while employed by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Branch) Hetal Patel, City Police Commissioner Ajay Tomar requested the Crime Branch undertake an inquiry to confirm the accusations, which were at first glance incorrect.
Since the Vikram lander successfully touched down on the moon on Thursday, Mitul Trivedi has been giving interviews to the local media, but according to DCP Patel, he has not been able to present any documentation to back up his claim to be an ISRO scientist.
The Chandrayaan-3 lander was developed by Trivedi, who claims to have a Ph. D., according to multiple media publications and news networks on Thursday.
He was requested to work on the most recent moon mission by ISRO since he was involved in the Chandrayaan-2 project, and he made significant adjustments to the lander’s initial design, which he said was the reason it landed safely.
But on Friday, a few regional publications ran articles casting doubt on the validity of his assertions.
She claimed he was invited to come by her office on Friday with documentation to back up his accusations.
But he failed to provide any paperwork or other evidence to support his claim that he had ties to the ISRO. Our investigation revealed that he had a B.Com. degree. When questioned about his claims to be a scientist, he said that he was a freelancer who had contributed to the design of Chandrayaan-3 in the Bengaluru headquarters of ISRO. Even more, he says he works for NASA,” the official stated.
According to our first investigation, he is not an ISRO scientist. The criminal branch will conduct more investigation, and if he is discovered to be lying, a First Information Report will be filed against him, she said.
