Navi Mumbai Police has arrested two Bangladeshi nationals for living in India without valid documents. Acting on a tip-off, Navi Mumbai’s anti-human trafficking team raided the local area of Nerul on Thursday.
In the raid, the police nabbed Mophis Mansoor Ansari, 61, and Dineshkumar Ram, 45, who were living here without valid documents. A case has been registered against the accused under various sections of the Passport (Entry into India) Rules 1950 and the Foreigners Act 1946.
Both the Bangladeshi nationals were living here for the last seven years. Thane City Police said that last week they arrested a 32-year-old Bangladeshi national from Bhiwandi city. A team of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) nabbed Noor Hussain Abdul Salam Sheikh, a native of Chattogram in Bangladesh, during a raid.
After his arrest on August 19, the police interrogated Sheikh and recovered IMO from his possession. IMO is a video calling application through which he used to stay connected with his family. The arrested accused, who worked as a plumber, did not have any valid document to travel or stay in India, the official said.
