Naveen Patnaik, the chief minister of Odisha, stated in a letter to the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh that his state will get $5 million in aid for Aapda Rahat Kosh.
Incessant rains have wreaked havoc on the state, claiming lives and damaging property.
The Chief Minister’s Relief Fund of Odisha will provide the aid.
The Odisha Chief Minister expressed concern over the suffering of the populace and the destruction of property as a result of the protracted rains and significant flooding in a letter to Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
The CM said in the letter, “My government and the people of Odisha stand firmly by the people of Himachal at this hour of crisis.”
Earlier, the Himachal Pradesh Secretariat Gazetted Officers’ Association, headed by its president Geeta Sharma, handed state Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu a check for Rs. 3 lakh to be given to Aapda Rahat Kosh.
