After recently releasing teases of the i20 facelift, Hyundai has officially revealed the redesigned i20 for the Indian markets. Priced between Rs. 6.99 lakh and Rs. 11.01 lakh (ex-showroom), the Hyundai i20 facelift. The facelift includes modifications to the car’s exterior, interior, features, and drivetrain. There will be five different models of the new i20: Era, Magna, Sportz, Asta, and Asta (O).
Hyundai i20 – Engine
Only a 1.2-liter, four-cylinder normally aspirated petrol engine is now available in the new i20. It may be connected to a CVT or a 5-speed manual gearbox. Along with 115 Nm of torque, this engine generates 83 horsepower with the manual transmission and 88 bhp with the CVT. The Idle Stop & Go (ISG) technology, which improves fuel economy, is now available on the new i20 as well.
The 1.0-liter, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with 120 horsepower has been phased out of Hyundai’s base i20 range. However, according to a claim by Autocar, it will only make a comeback in the facelifted i20 N Line, which is intended for performance fans. Hyundai India confirmed this to them. Earlier, when the i20 transitioned to BS6 Phase II pollution standards, Hyundai had dropped the diesel engine option.
Hyundai i20 – Appearance
With minor changes like new LED headlights and LED DRLs, the 2017 Hyundai i20’s design mainly stays the same. It now has an aggressive appearance thanks to its updated front and rear bumpers. By emphasizing sharp lines all throughout the body, the car’s aerodynamics have also been enhanced. The revised front grille and 16-inch alloy wheels enhance the car’s sporty appearance. The Hyundai emblem has also been updated with a new 2D design and is now present from the grille to the bottom portion of the hood.
The color possibilities for the new Hyundai i20 are Amazon Grey (New), Atlas White, Titan Grey, Typhoon Silver, Starry Night, Fiery Red, Atlas White + Black Roof, and Fiery Red + Black Roof.
