The government of Maharashtra has taken a new decision. Now new apartments will be built for the honorable people holding respected positions in the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council. These apartments will be built in Malabar, the most expensive and posh area of Mumbai. These new apartments will be built by demolishing the existing Ajantha bungalows in Malabar Hills. The government has also given permission for this.
Now new and luxurious apartments will be built for the dignitaries in Malabar Hills, the most expensive area of Mumbai. Let us tell you that the existing Ajantha bungalows in Malabar Hills will be demolished and these luxurious apartments will be built there. About 12 flats will be built on this space of 6,500 square feet. In this apartment, 1 flat will be allotted to the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, 1 flat to the Speaker of the Legislative Council, 1 flat each to the Deputy Speaker of both the Houses and 1 flat each to the Leader of Opposition of both the Houses. Apart from this, the remaining flats built there will be reserved for guests.
Maharashtra government can get this new apartment constructed through PWD or Housing Department. But no decision has been taken on this yet. Let us tell you that the construction of this new apartment may cost more than Rs 80 crore. Every facility will be taken care of in this apartment to be built for the honorable people. Gym, yoga center etc. will be built here for them.
Let us tell you that the opposition is taking a dig at this decision of the government. Opposition leaders say that it is better to give apartments to people holding constitutional posts instead of bungalows, but the government should fulfill the promises made to the public before thinking about the leaders.
Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar has supported this decision taken by the state government. He said, “Instead of constructing many bungalows, the government is demolishing one bungalow and building apartments there. This will save the government’s money. The new building will be built at a lesser cost than the cost of constructing the old buildings. The government has thought a lot. This decision has been taken after understanding.”
