While he was being questioned by the investigation agency under the Congress-led UPA administration, Federal Home Minister Amit Shah claimed on Wednesday that the CBI was “putting pressure” on him to “frame” Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an alleged fake encounter case in Gujarat.
Shah responded to a question on the opposition’s claim that the Narendra Modi administration is ineffective by saying this at the “News 18 Rising India” program here “targeting them while utilizing the central agencies.
While Modi was the chief executive of Gujarat, the CBI allegedly placed pressure on me to “frame Modi ji” in a case involving a purportedly staged encounter “He continued, adding that despite this, the BJP never made a fuss. About Rahul Gandhi being found guilty of criminal defamation by a Surat court, the home minister said that the Congressman was not the first politician to be found guilty and expelled from the assembly.
Rahul, he said, has been attempting to raise a fuss and has been blaming Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his misfortune rather than seeking a higher court.
Rahul Gandhi, according to Shah, should take his case to a higher court rather than attempting to place the responsibility on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that although convictions cannot be delayed, the House is misinforming the public. If the court so determines, the penalty may be suspended, he said.
What sort of arrogance is this? You want a favor. You want to be an MP and will also not appear before the Court, Shah added. “He has not sought to seek stay on his conviction. He asked whence such haughtiness originates.
According to Shah, 17 notable figures, including Lalu Prasad, J. Jayalalitha, and Raashid Alvi, had their memberships revoked as a result of a 2013 Supreme Court ruling issued by the UPA administration, which said that an elected representative would lose his position immediately following conviction. Yet, he said that no one objected to wearing black clothing since it is the “law of the country.”
He continued, “Listen to Rahul Gandhi’s complete speech; he has shouted hateful things not just for Modi Ji but also for the entire Modi community and OBC society.
The ruling of the Supreme Court of India, which was rendered under their tenure, is the law of the nation and there is no issue of political revenge, according to Shah.
When Shah was questioned about the warning to leave his home, he questioned why there should be a “special favor” since the Supreme Court had ordered that action be taken as soon as the conviction takes effect.
Rahul Gandhi made the comment on purpose, according to Shah. If he didn’t want to apologize, he shouldn’t have filed for bail in the first place.
This guy is not the first politician to lose their membership due to this clause, according to the home minister, who held political posts with considerably more responsibility and expertise. The only time India’s democracy is in jeopardy, according to him, is when a member of the Gandhi family is disqualified, not when Lalu Ji was disqualified.
What kind of mentality is this? Whatever happens, they start blaming Modi ji and the Lok Sabha Speaker, Shah said. “Now that it has come on him, they are saying make a separate law for the Gandhi family. I want to ask the people of this country whether there should be a separate law for a single family.
He advised prominent attorneys who are Congress MPs in Rajya Sabha to inform their peers that the disqualification has nothing to do with the Lok Sabha Speaker. Even if his disqualification notice was delivered a few days later, he said, it would serve no purpose since it would be against the law of the land to have all of his Parliamentary utterances expunged from the records as soon as he was found guilty.
Shah said that the BJP does not want the Supreme Court’s judgment changed. The Manmohan Singh administration introduced an Ordinance to counter the Supreme Court’s ruling, but Rahul Gandhi slammed it as “nonsense.”
If the ordinance had become a law, Shah said, “he may have been rescued. But after he tore it up, who in his administration would have dared to put it into legislation? It was vetoed.
Veer Savarkar was the only freedom fighter who received a two-life sentence in Andaman jail, the Home Minister stated in response to a question on Rahul’s remark about Savarkar. Such words shouldn’t have been used for a freedom warrior, he argued.
Rahul needs to read his grandmother’s remark on Veer Savarkar. He said that members of his own party had counseled him from criticizing Savarkar.
Shah predicted that Modi will once again be prime minister in 2024 with a wider margin of victory. He said that there is no unity among the opposition and predicted that the BJP will win more seats in the 2024 elections than it did in the 2019 elections.
On the impending elections in Karnataka, Shah predicted that the BJP will easily pass the halfway point and establish a firm majority in the state’s legislature.
“The BJP will surely reach the halfway point and establish the government with an overwhelming majority in Karnataka. We will win record mandate,” Shah asserted, ruling out any partnership in the state.
He said that reservations based on religion are illegal, citing the recent decision by the Karnataka government to eliminate quotas on the basis of religion. He said that the Congress-led administration in Karnataka made the mistake because of polarization, and that it had to be fixed sooner.
The charges about the abuse of investigative agencies against the opposition leaders were dismissed by the minister of the interior. Shah said that although the Congress administration imprisoned innocent police personnel, we never placed blame on the opposition.
According to Shah, the BJP won the elections in 2014 and 2019 on the platform of fighting corruption. He said that of the 1.10 lakh crore of assets recovered by the Enforcement Directorate, just 5% belonged to political figures. Shah questioned whether or not to continue the battle against corruption if the accused was a politician.
The Home Minister enquired as to who had brought legal action against Lalu Prasad Yadav and despatched a planeload of officers out of Delhi to detain Shaikh Abdullah.
Shah said that thousands of innocent people were imprisoned for the duration of the Emergency for 19 months due to the abuse of agencies, and he questioned who was responsible. He said that it was his grandmother, Indira Gandhi.
Shah said that the Shiv Sena and the BJP were what the people of Maharashtra wanted and that the genuine Shiv Sena is now a part of the BJP. There is no dispute about the merging of Shiv Sena, and I also acknowledge that the BJP could have established the government in Maharashtra on its own, he said.
He suggested that the Congress reflect on its role in corruption. In Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, there is a tremendous sense of animosity against the Congress regimes. He predicted that we will easily win the Madhya Pradesh elections.
The face in the Rajasthan polls, according to Shah, has not been decided. They want to replace Rajasthan’s chief minister, he said.
About Amritpal Singh, Shah said that he talks with the chief minister of Punjab every three months, regardless of which party is in power, and that he supports the party when it comes to national security.
With relation to the Amritpal issue, “several persons have been detained, and police and intelligence services are working on the investigation,” he stated.
Shah referred to assaults on Indian embassies as an attack on India. He said, “We will take action against those responsible for the assault; a FIR has already been filed in Delhi.”
According to Shah, Sikhs made a significant contribution to India’s liberation and every Sikh wants to stay with India.
Any conflict between the administration and the courts was disregarded by the home minister.
He remarked, “Both are operating within their capabilities. He said that it is the responsibility of the administration to enact legislation right away and that the Parliament would consider it.
