Eknath Shinde, the chief minister of Maharashtra, gave the state Water Resources Department instructions on Thursday to seek more funding from financial organizations like NABARD so that unfinished irrigation projects in the state may be finished by September 2024.
According to an official release, the chief minister met with department representatives to address the need for Rs 15,000 crore to finish unfinished irrigation projects.
The completion of more than 89 unfinished small irrigation projects, which need Rs 7,351 crore, was also addressed.
“Rs 4,686 crore would be needed to finish 144 unfinished projects under the Urban Development Department’s Nagarotthan Yojana and Amrut Yojana, for which planning must be done. In order to obtain the necessary finances, my administration will work with you in every way imaginable, Shinde was reported as saying.
