Things have been more intense for Pakistan in their current 2023 ODI World Cup campaign after their loss to India. Babar Azam and company suffered a lopsided loss in Ahmedabad, falling short by seven wickets. Chasing 192, India easily reached the goal in 30.3 overs with to half-centuries from skipper Rohit Sharma (86) and Shreyas Iyer (53*) thanks to an impressive bowling performance by India.
Following the game, the PCB filed an official protest with the ICC, complaining of “inappropriate conduct” against its players during their World Cup match against India as well as delays in granting visas to Pakistani media and supporters.
“The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has filed another official complaint with the ICC about the lack of a visa policy for Pakistani supporters attending the current World Cup 2023 and the delays in granting visas to media from Pakistan. The PCB also reported improper behavior directed at the Pakistan team during the India vs. Pakistan game played on October 14, 2023,” the PCB said on social media site X.
The PCB previously told ESPNCricinfo that it was “extremely disappointed” to learn that Pakistani media and supporters were still having trouble getting Indian visas to cover Pakistan’s matches in the ICC World Cup in 2023. While waiting, PCB reminded BCCI and ICC of their responsibilities once again.
Irfan Pathan’s major discovery is that “a fan threw an iron nail in Peshawar.”
Irfan Pathan, a former all-rounder for India, responded to the news differently, saying that the PCB “should stop making issues on crowd behavior” since he endured similar treatment “in Peshawar.” Commentator Pathan said during the World Cup match between India and Bangladesh, “We were playing a game in Peshawar, when a fan suddenly hurled an iron nail at me, striking beneath my eye. We never raised the subject and always valued their hospitality. Pakistan has to cease criticizing Indian mob behavior.
Pathan continued on after that. He posted screenshots of news stories on X to demonstrate his point. Additionally, he said, “I’m still claiming it occurs. Many admiring people who had shouted “Balaji Zara dheere chalo with love” before the journey were there. But there was also this occurrence. Instead of moaning about it, we moved on and concentrated on winning.
India defeated Pakistan in the current competition, ending their winning streak. In their forthcoming match against Australia on Friday, they will be looking to rebound from their loss.
