According to the State Department, three Chinese businesses have been sanctioned by the US for providing components for missiles to Pakistan’s ballistic missile program.
The US State Department said in the designation that the restrictions were being implemented as a part of the international nonproliferation framework.
“Today, we are designating three organizations in accordance with Executive Order 13382, which targets those who spread WMDs and their delivery systems. These three Chinese-based organizations have tried to provide Pakistan’s ballistic missile program with goods that may be used with missiles, according to a statement from the State Department.
China, Pakistan’s all-weather partner, has been Islamabad’s primary source of weapons and defense gear for its military modernization effort.
The three businesses are Changzhou Utek Composite Company Ltd., Beijing Luo Luo Technology Development Co Ltd., and General Technology Limited.
They were punished for having participated in, or attempted to participate in, activities or transactions that materially contributed to or posed a material risk of materially contributing to the spread of weapons of mass destruction or the means by which they are delivered (including missiles that can deliver such weapons), including any efforts by Pakistan to produce, acquire, possess, develop, transport, transfer, or use such items.

According to State Department spokesman Matthew Miller, today’s measures show that the United States will continue to take steps to stop the spread of weapons of mass destruction, their delivery systems, and related suspicious procurement activity.
