In an effort to strengthen its position in the market and encourage more people to purchase MacBooks in the next year, Apple intends to release more reasonably priced MacBook models in 2024. Both 12- and 13-inch models of the new MacBooks are reportedly planned by Apple, but we’re sure everyone is curious about the potential “affordable” price tag attached to these rumored Macs.
It seems that Apple intends to sell these MacBooks for around $700 (about Rs. 56,800), which puts the beginning price far higher than what the current MacBook series is priced at. Since the MacBook Air and Pro models are, quite obviously, out of reach for the majority of customers, Apple sees the need to provide a lower-end MacBook portfolio.
Given that Google’s Chromebook is priced much under $300 in the majority of markets, it seems that the new Macs will be going up against them in that market.
The decline in iPad sales, particularly in the school sector, may be another factor in Apple’s decision to release low-cost MacBooks. In this space, Apple hopes to promote the future Macs and increase its income stream. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple may aim to supply around 10 million of these MacBooks annually.
The approach behind these MacBooks seems like a business move that might help Apple target a new market that obviously needs a Chromebook substitute while also helping them offset the decline in iPad income. Indeed, Apple has the potential to significantly reduce the market share of well-known manufacturers like as HP, Dell, Lenovo, and others if it can offer similar MacBooks in areas like India for less than Rs 60,000. The holiday sales serve as a stark reminder of how a reasonable MacBook pricing may entice thousands of people throughout the nation to purchase Macs.
If the products are imported, it would be difficult to price them aggressively, but even in that case, buyers would gladly welcome the opportunity to upgrade to a MacBook, which many see as having aspirational value comparable to that of an iPhone. Nevertheless, Apple must make sure that the device is made with high-quality components and functionality and that its low price does not deceive users.
