In an effort to look into and provide justice for the strange death of a young person from the southern state studying forensic medicine in Ranchi, Chief Minister MK Stalin of Tamil Nadu wrote to his counterpart Hemant Soren of Jharkhand on Saturday.
M (28), a student at Jharkhand’s Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, was discovered dead on Thursday from fire injuries next to one of the institute’s dormitory buildings.
Stalin wrote to his Jharkhand counterpart Hemant Soren, pleading with him to expedite the investigation and secure justice for Madhankumar’s death. Stalin made this announcement while also announcing that the family of the deceased medico, who was from Namakkal district, would receive Rs 3 lakh in compensation from the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund.
In a statement expressing sorrow for the student’s passing, Stalin said that Madhankumar’s burnt body—who had vanished from the dorm—had been discovered behind the residence hall.
The chief minister added that the dead student’s body was sent to Tamil Nadu after state government representatives hurriedly contacted their Jharkhand counterparts. A few state politicians also paid floral tributes, and the dead doctor was buried this morning.
