Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, visited a state-run hospital here on Friday to get treatment for injuries she sustained earlier this year while getting out of a helicopter. She had sustained injuries to her right shoulder and left knee. Banerjee informed reporters as she left the SSKM Hospital’s Woodburn Block that she had been there, where medical professionals had taken some standard tests and dealt with the injury concerns.
When reporters questioned her about a minor surgery on her right shoulder, she said, “It’s not serious.” Why do you care so much? Actually, there was an issue when our chopper had to make an emergency landing at the IAF helipad at Sevoke, which is close to Siliguri. As a result, I had injuries to my shoulder and leg. However, the physicians today properly healed both of my injuries, and I am now completely well. “I recently had a check-up here. I was then treated by the physicians,” she continued.
“Actually, I’ve been walking normally lately. Every day, I take around 20,000 steps,” the CM stated. “I also interacted with the doctors and discussed some of the issues faced by them,” she claimed, insisting that not much should be read during her more than three-hour visit to the hospital. Prior to getting into her vehicle, Banerjee wished the state’s residents a happy New Year and read a few words from a Tagore poem in which she prayed for harmony, the triumph of mankind, and peace.
She had another injury to her left knee in September while on a 12-day tour of Spain and Dubai.
