Dayanidhi Maran, the DMK MP, stirred up controversy once again when he called the BJP IT unit a “jobless barber.” On Sunday, the DMK MP likened the IT branch of the BJP to a “unemployed barber,” claiming that its workers were disseminating outdated movies because they had nothing better to do.

In Tamil, there is a proverb that states that a barber would shave a cat if he is unemployed. In a same vein, the BJP IT wing is disseminating my older films since it has nothing better to do, according to Maran.
Maran was criticized by BJP leaders for referring to “people spreading and reacting to his rants on a jobless barber.”
In response to the DMK MP’s remarks, K Annamalai, the head of the Tamil Nadu BJP, said that it seems that Thiru Dayanidhi Maran’s specialty is disparaging people based on their occupation or language.
Thiru Dayanidhi Maran refers to anyone who disseminate and respond to his diatribes against our North Indian brothers and sisters as “Jobless Barbers” rather than offering an apology. With all of this degradation, it is clear that the leaders of the I.N.D.I. Alliance are unfazed by the repeated taste of electoral failure, as Annamalai said in an X post.
Maran’s comment, according to BJP national spokesman Shehzad Poonawalla, demonstrates his “elitist and casteist mindset.”
“DMK is back at it. Maran criticizes barbers and demonstrates his aristocratic and casteist worldview after disparaging Sanatan, Hindu Dharma, North Indians, and Hindi. Dayanidhi Maran refers to anyone who disseminate and respond to his diatribes against North Indian Brothers and Sisters as the work of a “Jobless Barber” rather than offering an apology. Rahul Baba is occupied with mechanics, kisan, and other picture opportunities. The BJP leader stated in an X post, “Will he say if this statement is part of “Mohabbat ki Dukaan”?”
The DMK MP faced backlash last week when she said that Hindi-speaking people from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar go to Tamil Nadu to work as construction workers and toilet cleaners.
