According to former Proteas lead spinner Imran Tahir, Yuzvendra Chahal remains one of the top wrist spinners in global cricket, but he will have to wait for his chance since Kuldeep Yadav is now a better white-ball exponent.
Tahir believed that Kuldeep, a left-arm wrist spinner, was able to seize the chances that presented itself. One of the best leg-break bowlers in the world, Chahal is now out of favor since he was left out of the Indian team for the ODI World Cup in India last year and is unlikely to be included in the squad for the T20 World Cup in the USA and the West Indies in June.
What then has to be done by Chahal? “I don’t believe Yuzi was let go due to his lack of performance. In a limited conversation, Tahir told PTI, “He was bowling really well, but it was just that Kuldeep was bowling really well and he went a step forward and formed this combination with Ravindra Jadeja.”
He would have to wait for his opportunity, but I think he is one of the top leg-spinners in the world of cricket. Therefore, it has nothing to do with his performance; rather, it’s because the other individual took advantage of his opening. Tahir, whose leg-spin helped South Africa take over 300 wickets in all forms, expressed confidence that he would recover.
Tahir thinks that Kuldeep and Tabraiz Shamsi, his former Proteas colleague, are the two best wrist spinners in the world.
“I think Kuldeep is a good spinner, and I appreciate what he accomplished last year and who he was before, despite his previous success.”
Although I like Chahal as well, Zampa performed well over the world, and Tabraiz Shamsi has not consistently been given chances.
“I believe he will do a great deal of positive things if given the chance. Thus, Kuldeep and Shamsi will probably be my choices, he concluded.
Tahir, who will represent the Johannesburg Super Kings in the second SA20 tournament, will be the oldest player currently playing in T20 competitions at the age of 44.

“I understand that the game has advanced much since its inception and that hitters now devise unique strategies, but my forte has always been placing the ball in the appropriate places and communicating my objectives clearly.
I simply want to keep going, but if you look at my past, I’ve been reliable. That’s the strategy. “I wish to simplify my plans,” he remarked.
Tahir believes it is his duty to inform the new JSK members about the significance of the Super Kings family to players, having spent many seasons playing for CSK.
