In response to US Ambassador Eric Garcetti’s “red line” remark regarding the purported attempt on Gurpatwant Singh Pannun’s life, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Monday that New Delhi has been looking into the case based on “certain information” that the nation has provided.
As an ambassador, the US will state what it believes to be the government’s view. My government’s stance is that we are looking into some material that has been supplied to us in this specific situation, according to S. Jaishankar.
According to S. Jaishankar, the investigation involves India’s security concerns.
“It is something we are investigating, as we believe our national security interests are involved in that investigation,” he stated.
Therefore, we would happily discuss the investigation as soon as we had anything to say. We don’t have anything further to say at this time other than that an inquiry is ongoing,” he continued.
An Indian individual was accused by US authorities last year of allegedly cooperating with an Indian government employee and consenting to pay an assassin $1,000,000 to assassinate terrorist Pannun, who was stationed in New York and supported Khalistan.
In a recent interview, the US ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti, stated that the two nations have been collaborating on the probe. But in a sharply worded remark, he stated that there should be no crossing of the figurative red line between the two nations.

“That is, in my opinion, crucial. In an abstract sense, that should be a red line for us. There cannot be any involvement by the government or any government employee in the purported assassination of one of your citizens. That red line is simply intolerable, according to Garcetti.

India is frequently the target of terrorist threats made by Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. He declared in November last year that Air India would not be permitted to operate. He made threats to harm the Indian Parliament in December.
