According to NDTV, which cited Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayanand, the man suspected of brutally killing a Bihari woman on July 23 in a paying guest room at Koramangala in Bengaluru was arrested in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday and is being transported to the capital of Karnataka for additional investigation.
On Friday, CCTV footage from the event above surfaced, allegedly revealing graphic details of the crime. Police claim that the attacker killed Kriti Kumari, 24, covertly on the evening of July 23.
Commissioner Dayanand stated to NDTV that the inquiry is moving more quickly. To apprehend the culprits, the Bengaluru Police established three specialised teams.
According to police officials who spoke with the news agency PTI, the victim was lodging with another woman. Kriti Kumari’s roommate had moved out of the paid guest accommodations a few days prior, and it’s believed she went to stay with her partner.
The woman returned to the PG on July 23 to remain with Kriti Kumari. According to the reports, the attacker was sceptical that Kriti Kumari could have had a significant role in her roommate’s decision to change.
According to the police-shared video, the man entered the paying guest’s hallway while carrying a plastic bag. And with that, he banged on the door and pulled the woman out. The murderer cut the victim’s throat and fled after the victim resisted the attack for a short while.
Other women who were paying guests ran to help her when they heard the loud boom, but they could not save her.
The 24-year-old Kriti Kumari was from Bihar and employed in the city for a private corporation. According to a police officer, the event may have occurred on July 23 at approximately 11 p.m.
In the meantime, the police said they were going over the CCTV footage, looking around the location, and figuring out who she last spoke to and what happened before the murder.
It was barely two days before the tragedy that Kriti moved into the PG. When Kriti stated the man was her brother and that he would shortly leave, PG security allowed the man, who was spotted carrying bags, admission, according to the police.
“Murdered in her PG in Koramangala, the young Bihari woman working in the tech industry was,” additional commissioner of police Raman Gupta told reporters.
Inspector Nataraj of the Koramangala Police told HT, “We have opened an investigation and filed a case under section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).” Not long after the incident, the accused left. The chase is on to find him.
