Senior NCP politician Baba Siddique of the Ajit Pawar faction passed away on October 12 in Bandra, Mumbai, following an unidentified assailant’s shooting. He was shot dead at around 9.15 pm.
According to news agency PTI, which cited an official, the shooting happened outside the office of his MLA son Zeeshan Siddique, which is located close to Colgate Ground in Nirmal Nagar. There were two or three shots fired. Teams have raced to the scene and are conducting more investigation,” the official stated. The Lilavati Hospital, where he was receiving treatment, confirmed the news of his death. Elections to the Maharashtra Assembly are coming up.
According to Mumbai police commissioner Vivek Phansalkar, two suspected shooters have been apprehended, according to Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
The chief minister told TV broadcasters that two of the accused are from Uttar Pradesh and Haryana and that a third accused person left the scene.
“I spoke with the police and physicians about this tragic situation. There have been two arrests; the accused are from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. The third defendant is running away. Mumbai Police has been instructed to take severe measures against anyone who attempts to enforce law and order. Mumbai police would undoubtedly apprehend the third accused shortly.CM Shinde continued, “Strong action will be taken against the accused.”
Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar stated he lost a wonderful friend and comrade. He wrote on X, saying, “It is terrible, condemnable, and distressing that my colleague Baba Siddiqui, an NCP leader and former minister of state, was shot. Baba has a lengthy history in the Legislature. The news that he had perished in this incident stunned me. My good friend and coworker is no longer with me. I vehemently denounce this vicious assault. I pay my sincere respects to Baba Siddiqui.”
There appears to be a major plot here, according to BJP leader Kirit Somaiya. “The murder of Baba Siddique is a cause for alarm. The government ought to assemble a special team to look into this. There appears to be a massive conspiracy. Strict measures must be taken,” he continued. In addition to serving as the MLA for three terms in a row from 1999 to 2009, Siddique was also the Minister of State for Labour, Food and Civil Supplies, and the FDA from 2004 to 2008.
Shehzeen Siddique is the wife of Baba Siddique. Zeeshan Siddique is their son, and Arshia Siddique is their daughter.
