In order to undermine India’s political and democratic systems, the Congress has accused the Center (the Modi administration) of employing cutting-edge software to spy on those who disagree with it. Speaking on behalf of the Congress, Pawan Khera said that the Modi administration “meddled in the Indian political system and democracy” by first utilising Cambridge Analytica (CA) and later Pegasus.
“Modi government purchased new spyware to snoop and spy”
“The Modi administration has now purchased fresh spyware to snoop, spy, and monitor people and institutions, much like Pegasus, Cambridge Analytica, and the newly uncovered “Team Jorge”? Opposition parties, NGOs, media outlets, civil rights advocates, the judiciary, the Election Commission, and any other institution that safeguards any pretence of democracy are among these institutions, he told reporters.
Khera queries the 20,000 billion rupees held by Adani’s sham firms.
“Why can’t Modi ji inform the country that to whom does the Rs 20,000 Crore in Adani’s shell businesses belong?” he questioned. “If Modi ji is spending so much on malware and spyware to snoop and spy on institutions.
Citing media sources, he said that the BJP administration is once again “exposed” before the public for its involvement and cooperation in the “illegal and unconstitutional surveillance racket” in light of trade data analysis by a reputable newspaper.
Is the BJP using spyware for the 2024 elections?” “Didn’t the BJP government spy on its citizens and political leaders in the lead-up to the 2019 General Elections to the Indian Parliament through Pegasus, and now it intends to repeat the same by using another spyware for the 2024 General Elections?”
Khera questioned, “Who in the Government of India bought and used the unlawful spyware called “Pegasus” from the Israeli business NSO and who in the Government of India has begun planning for this new spyware?”
