On Saturday, April 15, fuel rates changed in various Indian cities. The oil marketing corporations update the price of gasoline and diesel every day at six in the morning (OMCs). When global oil prices increased due to tighter supply from OPEC+ and decreased Russian production, the cost of gasoline throughout the country remained essentially stable. Investors are paying close attention to today’s IEA monthly report, which will provide further insight into global demand and supply.
On May 21 of last year, when finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman reduced the excise tax on gasoline and diesel by Rs. 8 per litre and Rs. 6 per litre, there was a significant decrease in domestic fuel costs.
In India, the price of gasoline and diesel is determined by a number of elements, including freight costs, value-added tax (VAT), and municipal taxes. Because of this, the rates vary from state to state.
In Delhi, a litre of gasoline costs Rs 96.65, while a litre of diesel costs Rs 89.82. One litre of gasoline costs Rs 106.31 in Mumbai. Diesel in the same quantity is being offered for Rs 94.27 a litre.
