The whole nation has been suffering from a heatwave, with temperatures in various regions of the nation exceeding 40°C. However, Mumbai and Bengaluru should have some reprieve, according to the meteorological service.
Mumbai
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a yellow advisory for Mumbai and Thane on Wednesday, meaning that there will be light to moderate rain as well as thunder, lightning, and gusty gusts in isolated areas.
The IMD authorities have said that nighttime rainfall is anticipated owing to westerlies coming ashore from the sea, according to a report. Additionally, the IMD has predicted mild to moderate rain with lingering thunder and lightning on Thursday, with the weather clearing up starting on Friday.
The IMD’s Santacruz observatory noted on April 13 that the month of April had already received heavy rainfall, with 15mm of rain beating the previous record for the month.
The Mumbai Traffic Police Department has decided not to put on duty constables over the age of 55 with pre-existing conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, or asthma, or those who have had any major medical operations, due to the extreme heat this summer. From midday until five o’clock, there will be a limitation.
Bengaluru
The Karnataka state capital and other portions of the state could anticipate moderate to heavy rainfall over the next 4-5 days, primarily in the evening and midnight, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Due to the prospect for rain, the Met department has issued a yellow notice for the city that will last until April 29. Showers are anticipated in the Bengaluru Urban District and a number of other regions in south-central Karnataka, which will bring down the city’s recent high temperatures.
On Wednesday and the next three to four days, the city’s highest temperature is forecast to be about 33 degrees Celsius, while its lowest temperature will be close to 22 degrees Celsius.
Delhi
Despite a modest uptick in Delhi’s maximum temperature, Monday’s reprieve from the oppressive heat continued. Although the meteorological service predicts another round of rain in Delhi-NCR beginning on Thursday, which is expected to cool things down, the temperature may climb over the following several days.
