The well-known dating app Tinder from the US has added a new function called “Photo Verification” to improve user security. Members are now asked to submit a selfie video as identification as part of this procedure.
The option to choose “Photo Verified Members” alone in Message Settings will start to roll out in the coming months, the business added. Video selfie in Photo Verification is now accessible internationally.
According to Tinder, people who have their photos verified may request that their potential match do the same before starting a conversation, providing them greater control over how they engage with others. Photo Verified users have the option to only receive communications from other Photo Verified members in their messaging settings.
“Tinder daters often tell us that they appreciate picture verification as a safety tool. The feature offers members another another opportunity to evaluate a match’s validity. According to Rory Kozoll, SVP of Product Integrity at Tinder, being photo verified increases a member’s likelihood of matching by 10% for those who are between the ages of 18 and 25.
All new users of the dating app will now be prompted to provide a photo when they establish their profiles. Members used to take still pictures while striking a variety of static postures, and these pictures would then be compared to others on the member’s profile.
Members must now finish a series of video prompts if they want their photos to be validated. Although no picture verification procedure is flawless, according to the firm, this helps Tinder make those blue checkmarks more genuine.
The dating software also provides users options that allow them control over their online dating experience. This includes giving kids the option to decide what kinds of persons they engage with.
Only messages from other Photo Verified members will be sent to users who have chosen “Photo Verified Chat” in the messaging settings. Members may also ask their matches to verify their images before sending communications. According to the dating app, Tinder Gold users will be able to limit their “Likes” to only come from Photo Verified users.
