According to information released by the municipal government’s health department, Delhi recorded 259 new coronavirus cases on Monday, with a positive rate of 14.3% and two fatalities linked to the illness.
According to a health department report, the number of new cases and fatalities in the national capital increased to 20,38,981 cases and 26,632 total deaths.
It said that 1,804 tests carried on the day before produced the new instances. On Sunday, Delhi reported 405 coronavirus infections, with a positive rate of 11.2%, and three fatalities from Covid.
On Saturday, one COVID-19-related mortality was reported in the city, which had 564 COVID-19 cases with a positive rate of 14.93%. On Friday, the health department didn’t publish a notice.
The city reported 865 cases on Thursday, with a positive rate of 16.90% and seven fatalities. The results indicated that just 241 of the 7,970 COVID-19 beds in the national capital are now occupied.
On January 16, Delhi had the first decline in COVID-19 infections to zero since the pandemic’s onset. However, over the past month, there has been an increase in new cases in the city.
To determine the hospitals in Delhi’s readiness for any situation, simulated exercises were performed on April 11.
Omicron sub-variant XBB.1.16 may be the cause of the city’s recent increase in cases, according to medical specialists. They have stressed that there is no need to worry and that individuals should act in a Covid-appropriate manner and get their booster injections.
