Today is a fantastic day for Mumbai residents wishing to rent an apartment since the police have simplified the procedure for you.
A police No Objection Certificate is no longer required to rent out a flat or apartment, according to an order issued by the Mumbai police on Tuesday.
Previously, in order to rent a home, you had to get a NOC and submit the applicant’s information to a police site specifically for that purpose.
Notably, despite the NOC’s removal, landlords and unit owners are still compelled to provide the police the information they need to identify their tenants. The rules that must be followed are as follows:
The police said in a public notice that the public may send information to Mumbai Police concerning flat/house rent in the following ways:
online application, or
by delivering the necessary documentation to the relevant Police Station, or
by delivering the application to the relevant police station through registered mail.
According to the police, internet facilities have been made available to the public so they may alert the Mumbai Police about any apartments or homes that are being rented under the Mumbai Police’s jurisdiction.
Anyone who disseminates inaccurate or fraudulent information shall be held legally responsible.
