The Maharashtra government has dropped all charges against former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh. Not only this, the state government has also canceled the suspension order issued in December 2021. It has also said that during the suspension it should be assumed that he was on-duty. Param Bir Singh made serious allegations of corruption against Anil Deshmukh, who was the Home Minister of Maharashtra during the tenure of the Mahavikas Aghadi government. Param Bir Singh had then said that Anil Deshmukh had given sacked police officer Sachin Vaze a target of recovery of 100 crores a week. After these allegations, Anil Deshmukh had to resign from the post of minister. Apart from this, Anil Deshmukh also had to go to jail on charges of corruption.
A total of eight cases of extortion were registered against Param Bir Singh. At present, he has been given relief in these cases. When these cases were registered against Parambir Singh, he had also got his statement recorded in the case registered in Thane. Param Bir Singh is currently retired. That’s why now he cannot return to the police department. Apart from corruption, Param Bir Singh was also booked under the SC/ST Act.
Param Bir Singh was also accused of bringing Sachin Vaze, who was suspended for 16 years in the Khwaja Yunus death case, back into the police department. Vajhe is said to be very close to Parambir Singh. After the Antilia blasts case and the Mansukh Hiren murder case, the difficulties of Param Bir Singh and Sachin Vajhe started increasing.
